Apollo: To the Moon - Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing and explore an exciting era in American history as the country reaches for the moon. This presentation on the space program’s glory days was originally commissioned by the Smithsonian Institute. For grades 3 and up. 9:30 and 11am Mon.-Fri. and 11am Sat., through Nov. 7. $11-12. La Cenerentola (Cinderella) - There’s no “bippity boppity boo" in this Cinderella, but it features something even more magical: the vocal vitality of a Giacchino Rossini opera. Enjoy fast-paced music and action, hilarious deception and many of the beloved tale’s characters, including the charming prince, obnoxious stepsisters and a Cinderella named Angelina. A Christmas Pudding - A holiday confection told in song, stories and poems, A Christmas Pudding celebrates the season with whimsy and reflection. The Fantasticks - Two fathers put a wall between their houses to ensure that their children would fall in love, because they know kids do what their parents forbid. The kids do indeed fall for each other, but then discover the plot and go off to experience the world for themselves. Groundswell Playshop - During San Jose Repertory Theatre’s Saturday performances of Groundswell, the theater offers creative playshops for kids ages 6-12 while their parents watch the show. Groundswell is a haunting, psychological thriller that tells of dashed dreams, enduring hope and seductive promises in post-apartheid South Africa. Hamlet - This ghostly tale of a prince whose royal family is disrupted by murder and corruption is one of Shakespeare's finest commentaries on morality and the human condition. Set in the medieval court of Denmark, this murder mystery features Shakespeare's most famous soliloquy – “to be or not to be” – and beautiful scenery and period costumes. 1pm Sun., Nov. 1. $20 adults, $10 children. I Love a Piano - I Love a Piano spans seven decades of American history, seen through the eyes of composer Irving Berlin. Pirates of Penzance - Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates Of Penzance explodes onto the ballet stage with swashbuckling pirates and damsels in distress. The tale follows the life of young Frederic who, after being accidentally apprenticed to a band of pirates, vows to fight against them.
