• Ken Wormhoudt Skate Park – 225 San Lorenzo Blvd. at Riverside Ave., Santa Cruz, 831-420-5270; www.ci.santa-cruz.ca.us/pr/parksrec. The 15,000 square foot park features full pipe, two bowls with pool coping and tile, practice bowl and street course with steps, hubba ledges, wall-rides and metal rails.
• Logitech Ice – 1500 S. 10th St., San Jose; 408-279-6000; www.logitechice.com. Offers 14 public skating sessions each week, as well as skating lessons and ice hockey.
• Monterey Skate Park – El Estero Park Complex (behind Sollecito Ballpark), center of Monterey (at Del Monte Ave. and Camino Aguajito, Fremont Ave. and Camino El Estero); 831-646-3866; www.monterey.org/rec. Designed by 40 local skaters and youth, it features elements that challenge skaters of all ages and abilities.
